Tracing Flavors and Designing Tastes

As a collaborative venture between the Department of Mapping the Margins (Uzma Z. Rizvi) and the Office of the Archive (Tetsuya Goto), this noon-time lunch hour provides information, gestures, spices, and stories. The Head of Departments come together to cook lunch and share notes on what sorts of traces are left by vernacular flavors and how food histories might intersect with design histories. They test a more sensorial approach to design. There are maps, markers, chilies, nutmeg, and some cumin simultaneous to a discussion about the links between cartography and archives.
