Bayn, Arabic for ‘in between’, is a transversal space that mimics the spatial and narrative conventions of museum displays. By taking seemingly mundane objects out of their everyday existence and recontextualizing them in a museum-like light, Bayn aims to sensitize people to the elements of graphic design that are all around yet too often go overlooked and undiscussed. It presents prayer mats, souvenirs, greeting cards, and other objects that are designed anonymously and are ubiquitous in the region.
